DESCRIPTION:
This was Joel Tudor's pro model from 1993 to 1998 when he won his world title in Huntington Beach and shortly thereafter made the difficult decision to move on from Donald's Team as a free agent. The design was subsequently re-named the DT-3. This board is an excellent example of Donald's expertise in creating speed, glide and trim in designs that were perfectly adapted to both small soft waves as well as powerful, hollow surf.
*From Takayama's website description: Diamond Tail Rocket
With this diamond tail 2+1 longboard, you will be able to punch through any section without losing speed. You can set up for either those tight whippy turns in the pocket or those high speed noserides. This board is all about flowing from one turn to the next, and as with all of Donald’s designs, the DT-3 is also an excellent noserider. The nose is also slightly broader than the DT-1, but not as broad as the DT-2
DESTINATION:
Beach break, reef or point, this board excels in knee-high to well overhead surf.
FINS:
Vintage fabric glass-on DT sidebites by Jack Jensen and 8.25 pivot center fin
